The Surfrider Foundation USA is a grassroots non-profit environmental organization that works to protect and preserve the world's oceans, waves and beaches. They have many chapter all over the US and also worldwide. One of the campaign from them is the "surf rider's Oahu chapter helps pass smoking ban. Their goal is to help Oahu to be a Tobacco Free Hawaii. After they had months of lobbying, the City council voted to pass Bill 25 on July 10, 2013. Therefore Oahu will become the second county in Hawaii to ban smoking in the public parks and beaches.Some of the digital technologies they used for this campaign includes Facebook, Twitter, RSS, and Youtube.
